CrossCountry was started by Skipper Zac Cross (read more about Crossy below) and was born out of a love of fishing and boats.

Our awesome crew have the expertise to get you to the fish, and the laughs to give you a great day out on the water!

I’ve been told that my love of fishing is not just a passion, but an illness.

Growing up in the Wimmera, Horsham Victoria I spent my childhood fishing, yabbying and hunting.
I got my love of fishing from my father, Peter. We spent a lot of time fishing the fresh water lakes, rivers and creeks surrounding the Wimmera, and would also travel over the border to South Australia to fish at Cape Jaffa and Robe.

My love of fishing soon led to the love of boats, and that’s when fishing became an addiction.

At 18 I purchased my first boat, a 4.88m Savage Osprey. I loved it. But unfortunately it wasn’t that long until I wanted bigger and better, and that’s how this adventure started.

Over the next 10 years I bought and sold boats all shapes and sizes, I travelled far and wide to get them and having 3 at one time was a regular occurrence.
Finally in 2016 I made the big decision to make a permanent move from my home town to Geelong for a sea change.

I'd spoken for years of having my own charter business, tackle shop and TV show, and finally decided that now was as good as time as any. I began drawing up my dream boat.

For months I rang around different boat building businesses and even flew over to the Hutch and Wilco boat show in New Zealand for ideas.

Then one day I made the drive down the coast to Warrnambool, to see Edward and the team at Richardson Marine. They took my vision of a custom SeaCruiser and turned it into reality, bringing my dreams to life.

This boat has been created from a lifetime of dreams. I welcome you aboard to share my passion for great fishing, and I hope that my illness is contagious.
